Trans Am Still

No swap for me. Left Grand Rapids and headed for the IBP plant in Plainwell MI around 230am knowing I still needed a washout, but I didn't really want to back track to Blue Beacon in Benton Harbor so I got to the guard shack spoke with a dude named Shannon real nice guy and told me about a place just down the road a few miles in Kalamazoo called GREAT LAKES TRAILER WASHOUT, 8228 Neptune Drive (exit 44d US 131). From the plant, keep heading south a few miles, turn right at the 4 way stop flashing red lights and its behind the BP station. Its 50 bucks for the washout but it beats 100 mile roundtrip. Man's name is Robert. 24/7 operation and a godsend. The people I dealt with at the plant, the BP and washout are the friendliest I have come across. Despite the -9 temps I certainly got a warm fuzzy being up there. I guess the coldest places have the warmest folks. But I have experienced that just about everywhere I have been. The restaurant at the truck stop in Grand Rapids (Truckstop Diner 76th street at US 131) has really good food. Big parking lot, good food. It just adds to the wonderful experience I am having out here on the road. Now, the downside, ran out of my 14 on the PA turnpike. Tried to park in the first service plaza was a no go. So I am in a pulloff area and parked before 4pm. Will leave at 4am, 231 miles to go, 10am at Elkridge MD. After that, I gotta get a shower. Been since Sunday at Clear Lake IA Pilot. Couldn't stop today except for my split break. Deuces.

5 and half hour unload at walgreens...smh...looks like my hometime got moved from Thursday to monday am...I guess the part that really cracks me up is well we told transam we need 5 hours to unload you...smh...I just looked at her and wanted to say maybe you should hire more help if it takes that long....lesson learned on this one...hometime or not...

I work in aviation and the FAA has a million abbreviations as well as the army , drives me crazzzzy

 

Actually nice enough in Omaha, to sit outside in the sun. Wish the boss was here, would bum a cigar off of him.

Company has hired a salesman. Guess they are going to try and grow a bit. Also, they have bought 2 680's to replace the Pete's with. Wonder if a KW is in my not so near future?
