Found out my trainer is this morning. He said he will be here later this evening or tonight. So I'm back at the hotel... He told me get some rest because I'll be driving out... I just hope he teaches. I want to be able to learn and not just make his truck payment for the week.going get some shut eye!

Good luck Travis. No matter what Coach you have insist you do computer and paperwork. Follow him into shippers and receivers. Watch him if he doesnt want to train. I hope you get a good coach

In Concordia MO for the night at the TA. Surprised there was so much parking at 6pm. Went inside Bourbon steak dinner, soup and salad bar. I needed that. Load wasn't ready until two hours befor drop dead time. Stopped at the Olathe yard for a new Pike Pass and my trailer gets put out of service for leaky axle seals. Down for three and a half hours. Gotta deliver in Johnstown NY Sunday and Hunts Point in the bronx on Monday.......if I don't get swapped out. Gonna start at 4am and hope to get through St. Louis morning rush. 2707 actual miles for the week, better than I thought, but 1158 of those came Saturday and Sunday. Laundry gets done tomorrow afternoon after I stop for the day. Nite nite.

Appalachian Mountains through West Virginia into Southeast PA and New York City to Coastal New England by Saturday. There is a decent chance this storm just plows to the East too far off the coast to bring those heavy 8-12+ amounts with 2-5" a safer bet for the Baltimore to New York City corridor (see 4-day snowfall forecast maps). But, there's always a but...the models bring in a secondary clipper type system that looks to over perform as clippers go Sunday into Monday across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York City. Could be ironic if the Clipper out performs this potential Nor'easter that probably develops too late for the big one many are hoping for. Keep you posted on both potential systems.

 

Why do I think, that I just might be screwed, on this run to Portland? Start tomorrow for a Monday delivery. Probably the bean place. Yea. Forget who it was from TA that went there.

 

I haven't updated you on the Queen's Wildlife Refuge in awhile. It seems most of the wildlife went on an extended vacation during hunting season and it has been fairly quiet around here. That is until last night.....we pulled in the drive last night and saw glowing yellow eyes up by the barn. We start to drive up there and this thing decides to meet us. It hunkers down and starts stalking my jeep, then does an abrupt about face in midair and takes off in the opposite direction. Looked like a cat, but too big to be a domestic cat. It had tufts on it's ears but had a dark colored coat ....much darker than the bobcat's coat. I have to admit it gave all of us the creeps......especially when it started coming down the driveway towards us!
I did some research and found that a bobcat's coat can vary in color and be fairly dark. It turns out that this is also prime "dating and mating" season for bobcats ....who knew? Soooo ....it seems as if my bobcat has a friend . I don't think my neighbor's are going to be too happy about that.....I don't know that I am real thrilled by the idea either. This new one seems to have an anger-management issue ....it was ready to pick a fight with my nice little jeep!

 

I was just getting ready to say that you and George needed to keep an eye on the weather. That weather forecast is from Captain Kirk....I have found him to be the most accurate in predicting winter storms.

 

How long is transam student training....pay ...and tuition reimbursement...they are one of the companies my school has on their hiring list...Thanks
