To keep the truck idling, I may or may not have released tractor brakes, I forget, you'd have to experiment, but the truck was in neutral. Manually depressing the throttle was the key to keeping the RPMs up and idling it. I had big soup cans stacked on there. Your kingpin lock is one object heavy enough to contribute to the balancing act. It took me a few minutes to set up because I only wanted the throttle depressed enough to keep the RPMs in that sweet spot. I used a total of 4 large soup cans to get the perfect spot. Keep in mind my method was NOT "road assist approved" but it was 80+ outside in the middle of the day and me and the dog were miserable. And it was so nice to take a 2 hour nap with the AC blasting.

It's 30 degrees outside andnthe sun is shining. Why are people idling their trucks? My truck is not only off but, don't even have the APU on!!

Made it past the rock throwing crackheads in Eastern Tennessee and yes, majestic Queen, I will be headed to Concordia MO for a swap Tuesday evening. Would like to get to the yard in Olathe to either get back in my old truck or get my microwave and clothes. Tired of spending money when I have food on the truck that I can't heat. Hey, there are microwaves in many of the truckstops, right? Duh!! Freight must be slow. Only 1500 miles plus last week and now this week a hometime week. Oy vey. Be safe and God bless.
