there were 10 freightliners that the company tried
and it could be an O/O leased on -
^I think they dumped 5 of them. I saw 5 FLs in the yard last year getting TransAm decals stripped off. FLCRACKER must have seen one of the last few around.

well going across WY I saw a long nose Pete pulling a TA trailer so I know they have O/O's that lease on
and I talked to one guy that completed a lease on a FLpassport220 Thanks this. -

crazy driver, how are things going for you? Do you like the carrier you are with now?
-
I've also seen a W900 in the Olathe yard a while back with TransAm decals on the truck.

I joined up with a company and it blows. I want to be home a couple times a month and i'm stuck on the wrong side of the country. I just want to drive solo quick my trainer says i'm doing a great job. I back up fine, I do all paper work and talk to all shippers and receivers like a pro. I just want to make 700-800 a week take home. If i swap to trans am is any of this possible.
My 3rd week out with a trainer I hit 3450 miles! only made $200!
I no I have a #### ton to learn about trucking but the way I am the only way I am going to learn is if i experience it on my own. I'm smart and very mature for my age. I just have a different way of learning things and another person just can't teach me it.HometimeQueen Thanks this. -
and how much longer is their training?
what company is it
sometimes switching in the first 6 months only leaves you jumping around
not getting where you need to be to be happyHometimeQueen Thanks this. -
Many of us are no longer with TransAm, Kenny. Unless things have changed, they start you out at 30cpm with a half cent increase every 6 months. Twelve cents per mile of that is per diem so you will not pay taxes on that amount. I don't know what the miles are averaging per week .....George will have to tell you that......my guess is anywhere between 2,200 and 2,700 for an average.....with the occasional 3,100. Do you have a family? If so, because a portion of your pay is per diem and not taxed, you will probably have to pay very little if any tax on what is reported as income.
You would have an edge as a student with TransAm because you already have some experience, for many the short training period is a career killer. If you are within TransAm's hiring area they will get you home, that wouldn't be a problem. STAY COMPANY ......DO NOT LEASE. There is no guarantee of home time when you lease and you will not be able to afford to go home very often.
I am sure some of the others will chime in as they get online and be able to answer any other questions that you may have.
