From the sounds of things it is a good thing the King has not meet him yet. And I would look into his living situation a bit more. Unless she is just a completly useless mother I doubt that she just left them to fend for themselves. More likely is that she left them with family or close friend and does not realize what is going on with them.

The only information that came from the boy is that his mother had a drinking and drug problem ....everything else came from my research and connections. Unfortunately in the state of Missouri it is not illegal to leave your children alone ....unless they get in trouble , then they can hold you responsible. One of our local police officers was abandoned by his parents at the age of 16 ....he came home from school one day to a note on the table saying that the rent was paid up for a year. Fortunately, the police chief took an interest in him and helped him through some very difficult years. I worked for a non-profit agency for a couple of years that dealt with high risk children......you have to have a pretty hard shell to deal with the situations that you see on a daily basis.....Two years was all I could stand.

Some days, it just doesn't pay to get out of bed.

That is sad indeed, that he hasn't had much of a home life. Sadder still, if his mom has a substance abuse problem, how did she get hired by any trucking company? Sounds like some lying and deception on her part! Sure hope she doesn't cause a major accident one day. I see why your youngest has a soft heart towards him, but that isn't a good way to have any kind of relationship. Good luck with that.HometimeQueen Thanks this.

Now that I have a wifi connection, Old Dog, I was at TransAm for a year and two weeks. As I write this I am waiting in TransAm lobby for my car to the airport. Should be home this afternoon. Sunday head to orientation with Cargo Transporters. Looking forward to my new home, and hopefully a lengthy stay. I enjoyed TransAm and appreciated everybodys professionalism. Gonna miss the friends I made here, but now I am A GHOST OF TRANSAM PAST.
