Hey JDM try TransAm during your slow season. It worked for Passport.

I thought of that, there are any number of major carriers that would hire you .....but since many of the better companies are beginning to limit the number of driving jobs that you have had within a certain number of years I thought it might eventually catch up with him.

I can't tell you that, Pete. If I did somebody might start searching for the bodies.o_O

Hi all, I never had an arrangement upfront with TransAm to work seasonally. I just applied, did my thing, tried not to burn bridges and then I was able to be rehired the next time I was ready.

Things are going well here at the new company. On pace for another 13K month. However still full blast running for a few days, very light for a few days. Makes me tired.

2 am last night, had a female driver come to a dead stop in the travel lane in front of me, at an interchange of highways, as she tried to figure out what her GPS that was mounted 3 inches from her face, was trying to tell her what to do. I doubt she will ever understand how hard I had to work to save her life.

Sounds like she could use some trip planning training. First thing that needs to be taught in, GPS is ONLY A TOOL to assist., second is know the your route you are traveling. Just hope she figures that out before she really gets herself into trouble.

Terrific first partial day at Cargo Transporters. Got through the physical, road test and photo just fine. Took Jungho to lunch at the Boxcar grille just down the street from the terminal. Moved into the bunkroom after lunch got a nap. These bunkrooms include 32" flatscreen tvs. Multiple showers, steam room, fitness room, drivers lounge. I think I have arrived. Deuces.

Hickory, NC is a nice city. Had a nice time with George getting him set up for his new job. Of course, while he was chilling this afternoon napping, I had about a 4 1/2 drive to return home. Not bad, though. Looking forward to having him home sooner rather than later and for him to get better treatment. The owners at Cargo seem to be concerned with the needs of their drivers by providing services at the yard that benefit them. Hopefully it's going to be a nice ride.

It is a little quiet, isn't it?
I have had my hands full.....the King has been sick off and on for almost two weeks. He went to the lake fishing ....took all the precautions against bug bites, but still got bit by a tick. He removed the tick, disinfected everything and we put antibiotic cream on it. Everything healed up with no infection or rash and we didn't give it another thought. After many tests, the doctor came to the conclusion that he has had some type of tick born illness, thankfully not Lyme disease or some of the really bad stuff. This has been bad enough. The good news is that he is on the mend and should be back to normal soon. Gotta tell ya, it sure did scare me when they started doing chest xrays and running all those tests.
