I still have it. I have received some very odd comments that puzzle the king and me. Had one "friend" text me after she saw the car that she just got so depressed she had to go to bed! Another asked me "Honey, is that what your husband wants you to drive?" .....Missouri is full of strangely weird people.o_O
It actually gets good gas mileage. Kind of have to keep an eye on your speed.....it is way too easy to catch yourself doing 20mph over the limit. Still discovering what all of the little buttons and gadgets are for. After getting caught the other night in one of our daily downpours I also discovered that it liked to water ski.......I didn't care for that too much.
I did a little snooping.....found out that the gentleman that I bought it from is going to prison for felony assault....I guess he tried to kill someone!:biggrin_25521: And here I assumed that he was just another drug dealer....

I am probably more Moneypenny than a Bond girl.....:biggrin_25520:

After a 27 hour wait at AB I got my friggin beer load, 46k, went to put straps and the hooks were too big, took them back to the J in St Augustine where I got them from. I didn't know you could return them to any J or Pilot. Blondes are not exclusive to flightiness.DUH! Lost two hours but got loadlocks instead. I like them much, much better! Picked up my load and left JAX at 0030. Pulled into a rest area at 0500 and took a nap. Continued on at 0700 and brought the load to our dropyard in Charlotte. Forced to take my 8 or 10 here. Got an autoparts load in Gastonia NC going to southern CT for a two dropper Friday. Only 800 miles so far this week, but this load hopefully triples or close to that amount factoring backhaul, then head to the house. And go buy some food!! No delivery out here. Sucks-!

Georgia investing $10M in ramping up truck enforcement
By David Hollis on June 15, 2015

Georgia’s governor plans to crack down on accidents involving commercial vehicles on I-16, I-85 and I-95 by spending $10 million to hire 60 new enforcement officers.

Gov. Nathan Deal’s proposal comes on the heels of several high-profile accidents near the Port of Savannah that led to outcry by politicians and the public and protests by some union truckers.

Deal last week announced the Georgia Department of Public Safety and the Georgia Ports Authority are partnering to pay for the increased enforcement efforts.

There are currently 234 commercial vehicle enforcement officers serving in 10 regions. The additional officers will patrol areas identified by the Department of Public Safety as “high crash corridors.” These areas include I-16 and I-95, as well as the Atlanta metro area, and the area south of Atlanta along I-85.

Additional safety measures have also been implemented as part of this campaign, including:

    • The Georgia Targeting Aggressive Cars and Trucks Program; Operation Safe Drive on 95 — a joint operation between Georgia officers and their commercial vehicle enforcement counterparts in surrounding states
    • Just Pull’em Over — an enforcement campaign involving local agencies through the traffic enforcement networks with the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety
    • Ongoing partnerships with the Georgia Motor Trucking Association and the Georgia Motorcoach Operators Association
    • Compliance reviews and safety audits on Georgia-based carriers by MCCD officers
    • Concentrated patrols to enforce speeding, distracted driving and safety belt violations and to conduct Level 3 inspections. A Level 3 inspection includes examination of the driver’s license, medical examiner’s certificate, pre-trip inspection, driver’s record of duty status, hours of service, seat belt and hazardous materials/dangerous goods requirements.
A total of 10 people died in two separate accidents within a month of each other in April and May.

THE $2.00 BILL I TRIED TO SPEND:

IF YOU'RE AS OLD AS I AM, THIS IS A RIOT!

Everyone should start carrying $2 bills! I'm STILL laughing!!

I think we need to quit saving our $2 bills and bring them out in public. The younger generation doesn't even know they exist!

STORY: On my way home from work, I stopped at Taco Bell for a quick bite to eat. I have a $50 bill and a $2 bill. I figure with the $2 bill, I can get something to eat and not have to worry about irritating anyone for trying to break a $50 bill.

Me: 'Hi, I'd like one seven-layer burrito please, to go.'

Server: 'That'll be $1.04. Eat in?'

Me: 'No, it's to go.' At this point, I open my billfold and hand him the $2 bill. He looks at it kind of funny.

Server: 'Uh, hang on a sec, I'll be right back.'

He goes to talk to his manager, who is still within my earshot. The following conversation occurs between the two of them:

Server: 'Hey, you ever see a $2 bill?'
    Manager: 'No. A what?'
Server: 'A $2 bill. This guy just gave it to me...'
Manager: 'Ask for something else. There's no such thing as a $2 bill.'
    Server: 'Yeah, thought so.'

He comes back to me and says, 'We don't take these. Do you have anything else?'

Me: 'Just this fifty. You don't take $2 bills? Why?
    Server: 'I don't know.'
Me: 'See here where it says legal tender?'
    Server: 'Yeah.'
Me: 'So, why won't you take it?'
Server: 'Well, hang on a sec.'

He goes back to his manager, who has been watching me like I'm a shoplifter, and says to him, 'He says I have to take it.'

Manager: 'Doesn't he have anything else?'
Server: 'Yeah, a fifty. I'll get it and you can open the safe and get change.
Manager: 'I'm not opening the safe with him in here.'
    Server: 'What should I do?'
Manager: 'Tell him to come back later when he has real money.'
Server: 'I can't tell him that! You tell him.'
    Manager: 'Just tell him.'
Server: 'No way! This is weird. I'm going in back.

The manager approaches me and says,
'I'm sorry, but we don't take big bills this time of night.'

Me: 'It's only seven o'clock! Well then, here's a two dollar bill.'
Manager: 'We don't take those, either.'
    Me: 'Why not?'
Manager: 'I think you know why.'
Me: 'No really, tell me why.'

Manager: 'Please leave before I call mall security.'
    Me: 'Excuse me?'
Manager: 'Please leave before I call mall security.'
    Me: 'What on earth for?'
    Manager: 'Please, sir..'

Me: 'Uh, go ahead, call them.'
Manager: 'Would you please just leave?'
    Me: 'No.'
Manager: 'Fine -- have it your way then.'
Me: 'Hey, that's Burger King, isn't it?'

At this point, he backs away from me and calls mall security on the phone around the corner. I have two people staring at me from the dining area and I begin laughing out loud, just for effect.

A few minutes later this 45-year-oldish guy comes in.

    Guard: 'Yeah, Mike, what's up?'
Manager (whispering): 'This guy is trying to give me some (pause) funny money.'
    Guard: 'No kidding! What?'
Manager: 'Get this. A two dollar bill.'
Guard (incredulous): 'Why would a guy fake a two dollar bill?'
Manager: 'I don't know. He's kinda weird. He says the only other thing he has is a fifty.'
Guard: 'Oh, so the fifty's fake!'
Manager: 'No, the two dollar bill is.'
Guard: 'Why would he fake a two dollar bill?'
Manager : 'I don't know! Can you talk to him, and get him out of here?'
    Guard: 'Yeah.'

Security Guard walks over to me and......
Guard: 'Mike here tells me you have some fake bills you're trying to use.'
    Me: 'Uh, no.'
    Guard: 'Lemme see 'em.'
    Me: 'Why?'
Guard: 'Do you want me to get the cops in here?'

At this point I'm ready to say, 'Sure, please!' but I want to eat, so I say, 'I'm just trying to buy a burrito and pay for it with this two dollar bill.

I put the bill up near his face, and he flinches like I'm taking a swing at him. He takes the bill, turns it over a few times in his hands, and he says, 'Hey, Mike, what's wrong with this bill?'
    Manager: 'It's fake.'
Guard: 'It doesn't look fake to me.'
Manager: 'But it's a two dollar bill.'
    Guard: 'Yeah? '
Manager: 'Well, there's no such thing, is there?'

The security guard and I both look at him like he's an idiot and it dawns on the guy that he has no clue and is an idiot.

So, it turns out that my burrito was free, and he threw in a small drink and some of those cinnamon thingies, too.

Made me want to get a whole stack of two dollar bills just to see what happens when I try to buy stuff.

Funny and sad at the same time that people don't know what a 2 dollar bill is. Don't they teach that stuff in school anymore.

I have seen people overseas confused by a $2 bill. Sad to know it happens right here in the USA.

All of us old timers can remember the $2 bill came out in 1976 as a memento of the USA bicentennial (the back of the note is bicentennial themed). 2 for 200 years, get it. I guess back in '76 a $200 bill would have been too unattainable for most Americans so $2 had to do.

The $3 bill with Bill Clinton on the front is the gag bill I have seen the most.

Tropical Depression Bill has forced the closure of several Oklahoma highways including Interstate 35 from Ardmore to Davis.

According to Captain Paul Timmons with the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety, I-35 is closed for a undetermined amount of time due to high water and a rock slide.

The highway connects Oklahoma City and Dallas to the south, and state troopers are helping clear dislodged boulders from the roadway.

Traffic is being diverted to U.S. 177, according to Timmons. The Caddo Creek Bridge on U.S. 177 is down to one lane, so it could be slow going for many drivers.

Authorities recommend people who drive between Dallas and Oklahoma City seek an alternate route, such as Highway 69/75 through Durant or Interstate 44 through Lawton.

A state official said no storm-related injuries have been reported, but authorities are still searching for a 2-year-old boy who was swept away by a swollen creek Wednesday.

Forecasters say 6 to 11 inches of rain have fallen on southern Oklahoma in the past 24 hours.
