Trans Am Still

Had a busy weekend moving the household...had a couple guys hired to do it cuz I was supposed to be under a load but it got pushed back so I got to save a few bucks yay...did get some scooter time in yesterday so that was nice.

In reference to the gps question...I use my iPad mini upon which I've downloaded the rand McNally atlas as well as a few other truck friendly apps. I have a dash doo-hickey that I attach it to so when I need it it's right there, fairly handy setup. I also use google earth when I'm headed to a new place to check the lay of the land, and I'm probably the biggest pita in the world bugging shippers and receivers for directions if bossman hasn't provided them already.

I guess I'm more like Pete in that I just use the GPS app for how far the exit is and what truck stops are coming up. I used to be in management and nothing ticked me off more than some driver calling me and telling me gps got him in trouble. Well...some things ticked me off more but that was right up there. I try to drive with a 'whatifallmytechnologycrappedoutrightnow' sort of mind-set.

I think chrochety is a good description for Pete and Flash. And I see it with the kids these days as well on how they talk to each other.

 

The main office is up north of KC, all that is here is a drop yard, so the paperwork still has to be sent in every day.

 

I think we all have the right idea .....gather all possible information before you even turn the key on the truck. A gps is just one of many tools. I would hear the King talking back to his .....it's name is Rosie, because she sounds like the maid from the Jetsons, several times I heard him tell her to be quiet because she was wrong.

 

You know, I think I could even deal with crude, rude and inappropriate as far as some of these teenage boys ....but I'm tellin' ya.....they are absolutely VILE. Where are the middle of the road kids???
