JUSTNVA, is it possible that you simply misunderstood? That you didn't realize that you would have the weekend off, (and still get paid)? The timeline the recruiter gave you is pretty much correct other than those two days. As for the hotel reservations, it is better to reserve the room for a couple of extra days in case your coach gets hung up somewhere ....you may or may not need those extra days. This is trucking, stuff happens, as Evomalo said your coach could run late ....the load isn't ready, construction slows you down, trucks have mechanical issues, etc.etc.....it is better to plan ahead and have a room for your student just in case. You will still be paid for those days should that happen.
Don't get yourself worked up over nothing or you will never make it OTR. It is frustrating that wires were crossed somewhere, but it is not a major issue unless you make it one.

So true about reading cans. My wife's aunt was going to the ob/gyn and thought she sprayed fds down in the area when she got there realized it was glitter hair spray.

 

Kinda like havin your beer in one cup holder and your spittoon in the other one rollin down the road at night

 

Sitting in a service plaza on the NJ turnpike. 3am departure to get off my last two stops. Got autoparts going to Southington CT and Billerica MA. Then a backhaul back toward the hurricane. Maybe I'd better stay out this weekend. Not coming home Jungho! Just kidding. Just cause we got medical now, does not mean you can have a nervous breakdown.
