I got in trouble for leaving a shipper if reefer wasn't within 5 degrees of BOL
so after that it was first thing i checked at the meathouses on a drop and hook
once your connected it is transam problem and inherently yours
if you dont hook up Liberal has to deal with it

this is information any newbies need to pay attn to
reefer hauling is easy as long as reefer works correctly :biggrin_2558:

frozen loads can be problematic in extreme heat
loading and unloading saps the cold quickly from the trailer
meathouses will load fresh meat and expect it to freeze on your trailer
that just doesnt work the heat in the middle of the pallet will be insulated
by the cold on the exterior of each pallet and retain heat never freezing
the happy little green light saying your reefer is running doesnt mean it is at temp
    or maintaing temp
Trans Am has 3500 trailers some dont get serviced for over a year at a time
doors get loose, freon levels go down etc etc
the older the trailer the more problems

lets bet jaso has a 10-12 old trailer
constant or frequent defrost cycles is a clue to an overworked cooling system

everyone will get jammed up from time to time but these things happen more with dropped trailers
    not serviced requarly

I am lucky i have same trailer every day only 6 months old and never burned more then 11 gal in 24 hours
with transam i have burned over 25 gal in a day

Also need to look in all 4 corners, and make sure the holes are plugged up. Used to double up plastic bags and stuff them up there. It's also a good practice to get in to if, every time you stop for fuel, you throw the trailer on defrost. Will get all the moisture out of the trailer faster.

The mechanic just said what you said. He filled it with freon but said it already had just it is too hot here. It was 87 and cloudy when I picked it up. It was 108 and no clouds in OKC. I messaged them and said maybe deliver on Tuesday morning to get rid of this. It is maintaining 4 or less right now but sun is going down so it should be -10 when I get moving but who knows. It is a 12 trailer. No visible holes or leaks. Just too hot. I should have known something was up when I got it, it was on empty put 26 gallons in it. Oh well that trucking for you. Nice to have the same trailer, you know what it needs and when it needs it.

    Be safe out there

maybe they will swap it and make it someone elses problem
i am surprised it was a newer trailer thou

that is the other thing the meat houses hate fueling reefers
why they make you go in full
but they are responsible until you take it
