Dano86 are you doing a lot of swaps as I have heard that with Trans am? But that may be with the company drivers not lease..

Swaps are prevalent at TransAm. Two big reasons. To insure On Time Delivery and also to get a driver home for hometime. Two good reasons, in my book. And yes, I came out on the short end of those swaps many times. Sometimes you take one for the team to get your experience and move on to a better situation. I got my year in and bolted. Having said that, I did not regret my time at TransAm. I enjoyed my time there with them.

did they have cameras when you were there driver facing
-
the camera looks big but once you get driving and get used to it you don't even notice it anymore. our cameras have both inward and outward facing. I have something I can't camera off probably a hundred times in 2 months and I never had an issue with a company

@gn. Swaps what are they? everytime I ask for one it seems nobody knows what they are
-
when I was in training I did one swap since then I've only done two and two months. I talked to some drivers that happened on that a swap in over 5 months

Company drivers have to swap. Lease drivers do not as long as you can be on time.
I have driven for a few companies. Trans Am is pretty easy to figure out. Go to a lot of the same places on pick ups out in the Midwest and to a lot of the same deliveries out east. Run a lot of the same roads. They don't drive in chain up areas. If you feel unsafe they won't push you to keep driving.
As for the cameras most companies are going to them. You can buy a curtain to cover up when you stop for your break but when your driving it will be ready to record in case of an event. You would be surprised by what drivers do instead of paying attention to the road.
Leasing at Trans Am is tricky. Better not care about hometime unless you live in one of their freightlanes. If you have never drove before then I recommend against.
Good luck -
Thanks I never really looked at leasing with anyone but I have spent the last 25 years as an executive running US operations and distribution for an International equipment Manufacturer. I am sure there are alot of things going on in a truck that would surprise me. lol Home time is not important to me I am used to being away from home from 6 weeks to 8 months at a time. Divorced kids are grown and in different parts of the country. My biggest priority is having miles to run since I am willing to run them.. Have heard from a couple companies that I would have to take home time every couple weeks regardless if I wanted to.. But the cameras are really something I have an issue with... Like I said I have other pre hire letters but wanted to get some good information about Trans Am as they contacted me today. I have researched them and read alot of the negative things and this is the thread that seems to have the most REAL information about them good or bad..
Thanks again -
The thing I like about TransAm is the 11 days with a trainer compared to weeks with a trainer with some others.Big Papaxx Thanks this.
