Hey! Who am I to argue with the Michigan State Police? :) While I agree it is a poorly worded article, if you read the first sentence it says that Michigan will be focusing their efforts on I 94 as part of a multi-state safety enforcement week.....it actually doesn't tell you what highways that Indiana and Ohio will be concentrating on.

From the way the article is written it sounds as if each state will concentrate on the interstate that is known for the most accidents.

I think the main take away here is that many states are going to be working together on another " safety enforcement week" .....Christmas is getting closer and they need someone to play Santa for them.:biggrin_2552:

    A few questions -
What do all of you think about these notices that various state law agencies put out? They all publish articles when they are targeting big trucks.

Is it a heads up for the trucking industry to be sure your drivers are doing the right thing?
Is it to let the people of their state know that they are keeping an eye on the big bad trucks?
Do you feel as if it helps to encourage the "Blame the Big Truck" mentality?

I haven't really been driving trucks very long but I don't really see truck drivers as being any better than anyone else. I see truck drivers doing crazy stuff all time really.

Frankly I love the notices it helps me plan my vacations and if I gotta be on the road it's just one more checklist item to keep me vigilant on my logs etc. not that I'm not always vigilant, but sometimes I'm more vigilant than other times.
