I heard somewhere after your year with no accidents it gets cheaper to insure you. Just what I heard, do not know for sure.

At the risk of repeating myself, J Rayl Transport is a family owned company with a terminal practically in your back yard. They don’t need you to have a year of experience. They’ll keep you busy.

I’ve driven for them since January, and I like them.

I asked my boss about that one when we had the dac conversation and he said it's a myth. He said it all boils down to the mvr and how messed up or clean it is. He also said it's a blanket average of everyone, not every single driver gets him charged x amount because of their driving record.

So the company figures they want to spend about X amount and the insurance somes back and gives them parameters on who they can take. Sounds a bit odd though that one driver with one year experience and a clean mvr and another with 5 years means the same thing to an insurance company.

Look at car insurance, it doesn't go down every year that you drive. It has drops at certain ages when you are young but it pretty much stays the same. If it went down with years you would see companies that advertise for drivers with a minimum of 10 years to keep their cost down. I had a 30mph over on my mvr when I got hired and that's one of the other things you hear everyone saying you can't get a job with.

I dont know, my insurance goes down. I have to call and ask, but they drop it. Ive been with them for a long time though. They gave me "accident forgiveness" too. Not sure how rare that is but its there. Hopefully I never need it.

A 30 over ticket though, wow!

Thats like a week ago some dude torpedoed past me in a construction zone. It was like 45 zone, I was at 50 it was downhill. 4wheeler past me like 70. Then cop right at the end of the cones busted him.

It was like 2AM. No work being done anywhere. They will get you in those zones sometimes workers present or not.
