I use it all the time in truck stops, and there is no charge on my end.
The cost to the company doesn't concern me, as they are the one using the service.

I use that same setup. Never had an issue with the documents being unreadable.

I think I was getting billed 40-50 cents per transaction last time I used it, through the brokers I was using. Since I don't own a smartphone I just use a cheap 30 buck copier/scanner and my laptop with the download transflo software.

Dude, you are missing out on so much for not having a smartphone in this day and age. No kidding. If you’re an independent contractor or have your own authority, get yourself a smartphone (iPhone preferrably) with Verizon. Internet/data plans have changed so much already. Verizon and AT&T have gone unlimited once again and are not going back this time. Plan prices are also cheaper.

I use jotnot for scanning stuff.
Auto converts to pdf file, plenty of send options.
Keeps file local should you need it later.
JotNotBroke Down 69 Thanks this. -
Scanbot
And it doesn’t phone home to share your data with the developer, or anyone else. -
Yes it was camscanner I was using. It didn’t work well for me. I’m using adobe scan for now
