I'm not sure on what they ordered for when, and the waiting list is kinda sketchy. As I mentioned, if you refuse to lease a T660 they seem to hurry and find a T700...otherwise the waiting list is three months long.
Where do you work? Are they hiring student drivers from Florida (heck, for my own interest, are they hiring people with 6-12 months experience)? Is the pay averaging $1000+ per week (after taxes, about the same as lease at $800 per week)?
Everything on there is the responsibility of the driver; there is no section stating the average take-home pay or anything like that; it is just what individuals have done wrong. Yes, companies can do some things (such as the eLogs they put in) to reduce their numbers, but the only thing that will really drop all the numbers is to stop hiring student drivers...and if everyone did that, the industry would dry up in a generation.

Great post. Well written, very informative. I'm not interested in TA, and I've already got an orientation scheduled with another company, but I enjoyed your post and it's given me more insight into the trucking industry.

Just a bit of advice.Don't base your employment choice on the kind of tractor thats being offered by a company.
windsmith and Rollover the Original Thank this. -
LoL...no, unless you only have one leg or something, the tractor should be little more than a tie-breaker between otherwise nearly identical companies. I like my T700 a lot, but I'd drive a beat-up old Freightliner if I was getting more money to do it...and if I was reasonably sure that it would keep running enough to make me the money.
Rollover the Original Thanks this. -
The only way to stop it is...quit hiring drivers that have no business being behind the wheel of truck.. Much less a car.

Don't base your employment choice on the kind of tractor thats being offered by a company, you would be surprised on the # that do base it on the TRACTOR , now I wonder how many drivers I can get to apply if I had 20 old 379 PETES 60" flatoptops 8" pipes 425 CATs
Rollover the Original Thanks this. -
Do you have an online app?FLATBED, Rollover the Original and MUSTANGGT Thank this.

exactly.. 5 days of work go home no truck costs sounds a hell of alot smarter then tht novel they wrote to explain how to make money somewhere... keep it simple... avoid plaves like tht
Rollover the Original Thanks this. -
If they put something like, "$0.35 cents per mile, average weekly mileage of 3500MI, students welcome" they wouldn't be able to find enough 20 year old 379's for all the applicants.
I'll ask you the same question...where can a student driver get such a job? I know Swift/Stevens/Schneider/Covenant/CR England/Werner don't offer any programs like that...and if they did offer such programs, they wouldn't pay the bills. Well, actually Werner does CLAIM they have a program like that...but they will inform you that there are no positions available once you get to orientation and sign a contract stating that you owe them money if you leave before three months. -
Does trans-am own a kw dealership? Somewhere near their Corp headquarters .Thought I read that on another thread.
