I'm curiuous about whether they said, that as an experienced driver, you won't be forced into a lease and as to whether they actually follow thru. Let us know.

Well, the recruiter didn't say I would be forced to lease, but she did say that I could lease if I wanted to and they just got in some brand new KW T700s.

I just can't figure out in their lease where you'd make any more money than a company driver. .84 cent a mile was a good rate - in 1970.

Oh, BTW, do you train Panhandle? I've heard you can make pretty good with them if you become a trainer. If I'm not mistaken, you have to drive with them 3 months before you can become a trainer.

That's prolly what I'll do if so.

Edited to add: If I'm forced to lease, then I'm forced to tell them I don't run the Northeast. In the Spring, Summer, and Fall, I usually stay out for 4 months at a time. Bank all that home time for January and February. For some reason, me and snow and ice just don't get along that well. I hate cold weather. I'm from the South, and I prefer to Run in the Sun. Hell, if they'll keep me below that Mason Dixon line in God's country, I just might lease. I know Dart has a Super South run between Hotlanta and Texas, and they pay .90 cent a mile.

Nope not a trainer. Just not that social of a person and trks are to dang small to want to live with someone, 21 days out of each month.

*sighs and whimpers* I look at that and all I can think of is the old phrase "it now takes me all night to do what I used to be able to do all night"!!! :biggrin_25520::biggrin_25522:

Can't remember the exact number right now but, their buying , oh.... somewhere in the neighborhood of 1300 trucks over the next 3 years. Don't think thats 100 mil but it is a lot of dough. All of those trucks will start out as lease trucks, of course.

That's less than 1000 new trucks. Over a three year period it seems like a correct number

Granted what Reba and I could do with 100 million will just have to left to your imagination
