You're so right. Keep your head on and your feet on the ground. And put an asterisk by those "hey, look at me" ones.

Lol, yah I had someone tell me the other day he was getting 5000 miles a week. I tried hard to refrain from laughing. It can't happen and is a load of &$@!

If you drove 10 hrs per day 7 days per week that's 4,550. Now trucks are limited to 65 mph then you got hills etc, then you got the time spent fueling, picking up, getting unloaded, post trips, pre trips, all eating up your clock too. Not to mention getting assigned loads that you drive 300 miles then sit and wait till the next day to pick up. No, 5,000 miles ain't happening in this lifetime at TransAm, if you get 3,200 miles a week you did great.

I won't lie, I've had some bad weeks. Usually I average $800 to $1,000 and I've been here about 6 months. I had a .42 cent check once, but I had a stack fall over, receiver wldnt accept load, spent a day getting it restacked, then another day getting rescheduled for delivery, so lost three days driving time, actually 4 as I had just come off home time.

So things can always happen that affect your pay, but if you can't save a little for emergencies making $800 to $1000 per week something else is wrong besides income.

Yah there are times I hate it here, but I expect I'd feel that way no matter who I worked for. No company is perfect. But I still say no matter what company it is work for at least two months before leasing. Learn time management and fuel management on their dime.

    Check these companies:
    Night Train Trucking
    Holland Enterprises Inc.
    Titan Transfer
    Danny Herman Trucking
If you want tanks, look at Dairy Farmers of America in Greely.

Thanks but Navajo is a bit prehistoric in ways for me and I have a friend at K&B. K&B is the devil! I have found a solution to my dilemma, though. Thanks and have a wonderful holiday!
