OOIDA cannot do that it's against the law. Please read what I said I hope to find a small company. I remembered a small company last night gave them a call but need do a search they were in Oklahoma last I heard called bee line they pulled cars and we're in transition from dullies to class 8 seems some states were messing with them about that weight on the tiny trucks.

People the fight ain't over and the battle is still 50-50 it is not the law so it still can go either way. There will be a call sent out to OOIDA members when we should call members of Congress or the Senate when it should come up for a vote again.
In the mean time keep telling the public friends and family members the truth about these scandalous trucking companies and why they should stay away from these thieves if they want to keep what little they still own the driver pool is drying up so they say and soon they'll have no choice but to cave in to what WE want.

I know when an electronic rope is being tied around my neck and I hope many of you do too so spread the word that these guys are bribing our lawmakers to do that too. Ya won't be lying and it will force these CEO's to clean up their own mess.
They did this and continue to do it by playing dumb (though they are not dumb in any way) that pay by mile doesn't work and they should stop speaking and or lobbing against it.
XM radio is a great place to start as well as your local newspapers.
Let's turn up the heat! I like to see CEO's sweat.

Yeah, we should do that AfroBat. But I am not sure it won't fall on deaf ears. The congress is the ones who are leaning on Ann Ferro and the FMCSA to have an EOBR regulation in place as part of MAP-21 transportation outlay. She responded to them this last week as saying an EOBR mandate will be out this fall. Who knows how long till it kicks in.

In the mean time let's go full bore and start campaigning against those who are against us. Many owner operators can do it on the sides of their trucks and company drivers can wear T Shirts and most people have copy machines but we need to throw ideas around about the message and one message alone for all to copy and spread across the country, rest areas, truck stops, restaurants, gas stations, letters you name it tape it.

The message should range from sleeping is a nature thing not a corporate thing. Question the conscience of the religious beliefs of people that are christian, is this the mark of the beast?
The message should appeal to those who despise big money that brought our country fascism.
The message should especially include a message of freedom from excessive spying by government and corporate interest.
A message that says we are not the problem lawyers are the problem will galvanize the public to our side in a heartbeat! How many times have you seen those advertisements that pollute the airwaves that encourages people to risk not only their lives but the lives of others on a subconscious level to hit the jackpot by cutting off a big rig? Should be an advertising slogan that appeals to all Americans besides who likes a lawyer could be morphed into a patriotic movement driving them out of business in the process.
Now these are ideas mind you but it's a great start for a foundation as well as a great soundboard.

The public will not be on our side as long as they keep seeing supertruckers in their rear view mirror riding their bumper .
They push to have trucks slowed down then have road rage when they get behind two 65 mph trucks running side by side for 5 miles

I want you guys to get as much rest as possible we are go to shake the very foundation of our country if we play our cards right and we will need as much strength and as many clear minds that we can muster. This is going to be tricky waters with plenty of sharks so let's be careful and move full speed ahead, May God Speed be with us all and hopefully we won't need to use the nuclear option..... STRIKE!!!

that's the problem afro. the boxers love the regs and appreciate all the leashes they can get.

and on another note. canada did the same thing back in the 90's. went up against the govt. by tghe time the govt bowed down. trucks were in prison and million dollar suits were filed for spoiled food.

i'm not on a box. and i'm not for all the regs we have now. being a flatbedder really cuts in the paycheck. LEGALLY.

so i'm all for what your saying.

there was ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with the old HOS. don't know what possesed them to think it was broken and needed to be fixed. and give us the BS HOS we have now.

accidents on the decline. i see more now then there was on the old regs.

Ya know, the action on the part of drivers really doesn't have to be difficult. All it really takes is thinking tactically. When you want to destroy an enemy's ability to put up a fight, you don't have to saturate the area with munitions. A few well planned targets getting hit can do the job nicely. Same is true for truckers. There is no need to really put up much of a fuss. Just target a couple of areas on the country, that, collectively, they will not haul in or out of. Not states, but just a couple of major population centers or freight hubs. Everyone can go on hauling everywhere else like nothing is wrong. It would only take a few days for the screaming to begin. Then we can just calmly let the powers that be know we are dissatisfied with things. Or just look at them and shrug our shoulders and let them try and figure it out. I am sure that many would be able and willing to play that game. Those that claim they can't afford to shut down, don't have to. Those that can, go fishing for a few days. Don't even tell anyone in the power structure what is going on. Just do it. No threats, no protests, no nothing. Just no hauling in or out of a couple of areas in the country. Simple, effective, easy to do. No need to organize, no need to tell the nightly news what is going on. For those that are company drivers and are "forced" to go somewhere.... uh, oh... I just fell and hurt my back, emergency at home, have to go see my son play his first little league game, etc, etc, etc. For the individual truck owners, select where you will go or go fishing.

Everyone wants to make a show of things when they are ticked off and that leads to confrontation, strikes, etc. No need to get all that worked up. There is no need for OOIDA, Teamsters, or any other group that ends up just taking the money and heading out on their own agenda. Just good 'ol fashioned grass roots action. I do it quite frequently. I have a standing policy that there is no country west of I-25, no New England, and no Florida. Have gotten asked frequently to run something to these areas. Nope. No can do. Don't want to. Don't need to. And have not lost one minute of sleep for giving up those areas back in the 90's. In no way saying others should do the same, but the point is that we all can probably agree on a couple of central locations that we will not haul in or out of without really putting a real crimp in our style.

Oh well, it is nice to dream.

Kinda like when one day, all the parts of a body got together to decide who should be in charge of things. The eyes because they could see, the ears, because they could hear, the legs because they provided the transportation, etc. Finally the sphincter spoke up and asked to be in charge. All the other parts just laughed and hissed at it. So the sphincter just closed up. After a few weeks, all the body parts voted for the sphincter to be in charge. Just a nice, quiet, effective shutdown got the desired results. No screaming. No hoopla. No arguing. No complaining to the nightly news, congressman, or whoever. We could do the same thing. Just close off a couple of areas. No t-shirts. No signs on the trucks. No letters to the editor. No national leader or group. No nothing. Folks will get the idea soon enough. Keep them guessing. That is the most effective way to fight them.
