Yikes, you guys are all so crazy. To each their own, good drivers will deliver on time with paper or e log. Bad drivers will fail with paper or e logs

Ha Ha okay there ironpony, Like in my example when you are sitting at the split of 465 and 74 in a wreck how do you "go around"? Do you push vehicles out of the way and drive through the concrete median to get turned around and back track? I guess you must be "super trucker" and can magically get around the wreck. Like I stated there is way too many unpredictable things that happen everyday to allow a driver to pre plan for everything and if you think otherwise then you are FOOLING yourself and only yourself. Hope you enjoy your tattle box that controls you as you haven't been in trucking long enough to know any better.snowblind Thanks this.

That does suck when you stuck there just watching the clock tick away at no fault of your own. I am just stating that these things happen alot everyday and if anyone can prepare for these times then they should be rich and not in trucking.

i dont know about anyone else but if i am going home and not under a load i put my elog on pc and go home
and i choose when to restart where i want -
Some companies do not have the option.
If all the trucks have to have EOBR, I look for this to be done away with.volvodriver01 Thanks this. -
And if your under a load and get caught up in traffic an hour from home and don't make it by 20 minutes then what do you do? No where to park where your at other than the side of a 2 lane. Do you go on home and take the E-log violation with the company your leased to?
And if you do then what is the difference between you cheating on your e-log and me cheating on my paper? -
See now this is good discussion on an all around crappy problem with the industry.

If your driving a truck thats governed at say, 65mph, your on elogs, your average speed is going to be 44-46 mph on a good day. How many miles a day do you expect to turn? And your being payed by the mile. Do the math.
We are on e logs and everyone doing OTR took about a 20% pay cut. But, all you do is press a button!!
And as others have pointed out, you can pre-plan all you want, but ##### happens.
What the companies want now are steering wheel holders/ robots not truck drivers.
