I'm starting orientation with TCSI tomorrow morning and have already been assigned a trainer. I will leave out with him on Thursday afternoon when orientation ends.
I just graduated from OTC (Ozarks Technical College) Truck Driver Training program and am excited and nervous to start a new career at 42 years old!

You're going to OTC? Tell Virgil Adam says hello. He's a fantastic person and I miss not being able to say hello once in a while. Stay away from PRIME. I've heard nothing but good things about Transland. Good luck to you!
SWMod500 Thanks this. -
I graduated OTC and I have been driving for transland for over a year now
if you have any questions PM me and I will give you my phone number and answer them
Virgil was funny, I was trained by Rufus... kinda a weird guy but trained me well
I love this company and it has been good to me
who is your trainer for transland?
we drive brand new kenworth t660's they are small but pack power and are very reliable trucks.
I get home almost every weekend and almost all holidays.
I average about 2800 miles(I could get more but I am lazy)
Randy and Dennis and Trey in dispatch are very nice people to work for and are safety department is excellent
Connie in recruiting is very honest about this company before you start.
I have a double bunk because I take my father with me now.
dont work for Prime this is what Prime did while I was sleeping and attempted to drive off down the interstate in OK
and heres me after I passed my test

Thanks! -
I met swmod500 he is a really good driver and has a nice future in the trucking industry.
he is almost done with training ready to make the big bucks.SWMod500 Thanks this. -
If you want to exchange numbers, pm me or ask cdldiet for mine. -
how are you liking being on your own? making the big money, well decent money and good hometime.
dont worry about remembering all the stuff he taught you. Drive the speedlimit and read the signs and don't blow scales and well... thats about all I remember to be honest (the rest is natural...dont wreck and whatnot)
I was told Snorelord is a good trainer and from meeting him a hell of a nice guy.(Also heard he was gonna be on TV or something)
I still have no complaints, this week I got hung out which I was shocked at but I got 3000 miles this week and 100 dollar layover so bring it on
EDIT... did 3115 miles this week, 2 hazmat loads, layover and still plenty of downtime to watch movies
still happy as can be
remember the smartest thing you can do when doubting road conditions is slow the ###### down -
I ended up quitting transland to be a local coca cola driver. I did not realize how good I had it.
I am coming back to transland after 4 months of doing manual labor and running illegal for coca cola(trucks are way under dot standards)
cant wait to come home
by the way me and sw500 have been friends for like a year. He recently quit for Opies to drive tankers -
Hey, I'm considering Transland as my first employer just out of school. I've read some good stuff, but the pay during training is awful, $350 a week! How is the insurance? I've owned my own company for several years, but the future looks pretty bleak for real estate. I like the small company environment I know my wife and I treated our employees with respect.
