Removing the hoses from the transmission that carry oil to the cooler. If they are removed and plugs put in the output and return ports, will this destroy a pump in the transmission?

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.

Yes thats what i was told. Put a loop line off the transmission. It lets oil flow in and out. My cooler sprung a leak, and not gonna replace till radiator replacement time. Been running a loop line on mine now for couple years. Watch the trans temp. Only time mine goes up is when running high speed on the big roads. But..still not high enough to do damage. Its a eaton 10 speed. Doesnt get quite to 200 deg.

Or for a cleaner look with out looping the lines , get a bypass plate . It goes over both ports on side of trans and allows the oil to still circulate. Any good gear shop should have one in stock. Eaton part # K-2402 is what you need..
