Actually , Eaton gears were being made mostly in India, and as of recently they have been making some of the gear sets in the USA.

Thing is, even if some of the gears, slider clutches, main shafts and counter shafts and gear cases were made in other countries, they were made to Eaton's specifications. Same with CAT, Cummins, Detroit, Mack and any other big brand manufacturer.

I promise you, it DOES matter if the headset gears in an RTLO series Eaton transmission are genuine Eaton gears. I have seen several guys that went aftermarket and every single one had a failure with those gears cracking right the keyway where the gear is pressed onto the counter shafts or they sheared teeth off. Aftermarket is trouble in an RTLO Eaton transmission.

The transmission parts and build shop I use will not even sell you aftermarket gears for an RTLO, however on an RT or RTO series transmission that is a different story for obvious reasons.

Freshened up my RTO-15615. Bought the Eaton master overhaul kit. All the bearings were from 4 or 5 different brands.

I'll say 3.42 on the ratio.

Find the tag, or run the vin. Get the history from dealer. They got it all in their computer. Get final ratios on original trans, and compare to new trans while your at it.

Eaton doesn't make their own bearings, hardly any manufacturer does. Their bearing sets differ alot on what actual Brands of bearings are in the kit, like you mentioned. Koyo, timken, federal, ###, NTN, Bower are some on the brand's you'll find in an Eaton bearing kit, but the gears and shafts and miscellaneous parts like forks and synchronizes are Eaton parts.

Had a few of those brands in the kit. I know my Eaton input shaft didn't fit worth a #### in my drive gear. Ended up with a Quality Gear brand input shaft. Fit way better than Eaton. With only 1,350 ft-lbs torque I think it'll be fine.
