Good evening to all. I'm having an issue with an eaton fuller fro16210c transmission. It does not matter what gear I put it in it's in high range (reverse included). I already changed air shift module, tired new shift knob, replaced shift fork plate with one from another transmission I had. I still have the same issue. I would appreciate all advice. Thanks
That snap ring is located in the back of the end of transmission your saying? I have to pull off the back end to repair it?
That's not the issue I believe it's a snap ring pop off I'm going to have to open up the back of transmission. I believe we just love the work. As my beloved father use to say "mighty rough"
You did not say if it was a auto. trans. so we are thinking it is a stick shift trans. mid/way back on top of trans. is the shift piston that makes it move from hi to low, take it out and clean it to see if it still moves, in the rear most part of back box there is another piston that moves back box from hi to low, ck it for air and see if you can hear it move? Was any grinding sounds coming from trans.when you tried to shift from hi to low before it stoped working??
On the Eaton FRO__210 transmissions, the shift cylinder for the range is located in the shift bar housing. The shift cylinder has a spool that meshes with range yoke shaft. The yoke (fork) is held in place on shaft with two snap-rings. Snap-ring pops off and you are stuck in one range. Seen it many times. I usually pull the transmission and go thru back box.
