Need to check your facts, TA goes all the way to the Pacific ocean. There is a lot of freight going to California, not always a lot coming back east though. Teams run to California a lot with TA but not so much as a solo. I used to go, as a solo driver, about once a month. I stopped doing that regular because I really don't like California freight. I now go to Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario Canada about twice a month.

Way to call a spade a spade! If you're not averaging 2500 miles here chances are you're either taking too much time off, turning down loads or are a general screwup. -
OK, I'm getting passed by Swift.
Are we the only ones at 62?
-
A JB driver told me they're at 62 also. There is a thread on here somewhere about who is going how slow.
But look at it this way: you may be passed by Swift but you're not being passed by Jevic. (or the other 2000 companies that went out of business this year) -
Not complaining. Just would like to go a little faster. I can deal with it better if I wasn't getting past by Werner and Swift.
-
TCAM's trucks were turned down to improve fuel mileage and the stats show it has worked. The company is saving thousands of dollars each week with the improved fuel mileage. I know my truck has improved over 1 MPG since it was turned down from 67 to 62.
Like it or not slower trucks save fuel which saves money. It's just something we're all going to have to adjust to, sooner or later. -
By the way, I don't think Swift, Averritt, Heartland, USX, or Werner are going out of business anytime soon and they are ALL passing us. -
Sorry, I never implied that Swift, Werner, et al were going out of business. But, there are those that are due to bad business decisions and wasting money on faster trucks is one of many deciding factors in the demise of a company.
My point was, and is, tha it is futile to complain about the speed of a company truck. It belongs to them not us, the company can do what they want with their equipment. If speed were important to me and I could afford to waste fuel I would buy a truck just to go fast. -
I start orien. on the 11th and i am glad to say i feel very good on my decetion to go with TA. I cant seem to find anyone that is not happy with TA. That cant be a bad thing looking foward to being on the road.

TA is a great company to drive for. You will enjoy it. They keep you moving and pay you on time. The training is what I think makes TA better than other companies. You made a good decision.
