Nice family owned company to work for. I was there 6 1/2 years. The percentage you get (23-24%) seems low until you realize that they don't haul cheap outbound. Back hauls are usually broker freight unless you are near a place they haul out of or another terminal. At the end i was in the .75-.80 cpm range, hub miles. Winchester was mostly storage silo hauling with some other freight. The terminal manager, Jamie, is a straight shooter. I wouldnt say that they micromanage drivers, but they want things done a certain way. I only remember a couple payroll mix ups, but they were always settled on the next week's check. There certainly are worse places to work.

And let me add something else. If you want to be home by 5 every Friday night and leave at 8 Monday morning or if you aren't good at being fluid when it comes to plans changing then apply somewhere else. Too many drivers wanted to make the big money, but didn't want to put the work in.

Sounds like a company I could get along with. Im one of those kinds of people believes "anything worth doing is worth doing right". I'm a workaholic, I'm divorced and my son is almost grown so it sounds like me and Transport could be a good match. Now I'll just have to wait and see if they feel the same way.
Oxbow Thanks this. -
Hey Jumbo is that your Pete in your profile pic? Your from Appleton? I used to deliver chemicals to Appleton Coatings like once every few months. I really like that part of the country. It seems cleaner and more crisp up that way.
