Good thing you don't drive OTR anymore, pretty ignorant to be dumping trash anyplace you want... Don't you think?

Absolutely. But what choice did i have? 100% of businesses would not allow me to dump it in their dumpsters. I have a 70' beast with a load of crap i need to get rid of and a pickup with a tight deadline i have to meet. Im not going to let anyone make me a prisoner of a bull #### situation.

We are talking about something that does not happen to a trucker all that much. It sucks when it happens though. In my career I sometimes was able to get a washout and they got the trash out for me and my company paid the bill. Just a note to everybody reading this. Beware video can be used to charge you with littering and everybody and his uncle can and do record when they see things like this. Most of the truckstops also have cameras around the parking areas. Same with most of the docks around the country. Remember you may get by with dumping trash, but again you might not!

How is dumping trash on street outside of receiver better then a truckstop?both are equally bad and very disrespectful of property. Even if it means spending a little extra time you sweep stuff in a nice neat pile and find a trash can to dispose of it.

UPS loads are the same, you pick up your empty and it's full of pallets and dunnage and shrink wrap.

I would never dump it on their property because i'd hate to be the guy who costs the company an account by my actions even though it's their trash. I would be respectful at first and say you are required to remove all pallets and trash if they don't i'm not going to argue. I will bring it up to my company and let them call and handle it for the future.

I am going to hijack this thread and tell of a situation I had with unwanted material left on my truck after a delivery. I had just got my bills and headed out to the yard to get in my truck. I got my flashlight and looked inside my trailer and noticed 4 boxes of chicken on a pallet. After I reported to my company this chicken was not on the food warehouse order they told me to wait and about 30 minutes later told me it as mine to do as I pleased. I was in Miami and my next load was a Coke load the next day. I asked the warehouse if they would just take it, but they refused. I just kept my reefer running and left headed to my next pickup. I took my 10 hour break about 300 yards from a small restaurant and after telling the owner about the chicken he got a handtruck and followed me. He took the chicken from me then made me a big plate of food on the house. He offered me $50 for the chicken, but I refused. I have never felt good about selling refused items, I rather just give them away.

Actually I never got to the Coke place. My turbo went out about 50 miles out of Auburndale. I spent 2 days at the Comcar terminal in Auburndale getting it fixed. I honestly don't remember what I hauled next.
