As far as I know thiese rules have changed. We always had the shorter nose versions of the trucks because of the 244 wheelbase rules.
I know a fellow in Quebec that built his Peterbilt glider with 285 wheelbase. I have been told though that he had to have his trailer shortened to 45 feet...
But this is stories from being told, I'll see if I can find out something for you...

This should help you out:
Quebec rules
Wheelbase up to 283" is allowed with a permit and some restriction to the trailer wheelbase. -
Ok..so maybe I'm not out and dead just yet....there is hope.
I will take some measurements today. I guess for a spread-axle trailer, I take the midpoint between both axles of the trailer? -
That's how they measure the wheelbase of your truck. Steer-axle to mid drives. I guess it would be the same with the trailer...
Don't make it too complicated for me, I'm not all knowing. Just provided you with a link that shows the official rules in Quebec...

That pic is with a 53' wagon, rules are different with a 53' over a 48' wagon.
Trailer w/b is measured from kingpin to venter of trailer axles. -
KW W900L Tractor:
Steer axle center to the middle of drive axles = 260" or 6.6meters.
The 48' spread axle trailer:
Kingpin to 1st axle center = 393" or 9.9meters
Kingpin to 2nd axle center = 516" or 13.1meters
Kingpin to center of spread axles = 455" or 11.5meters
Distance between spread Axles = 124" or 3.1meters
So if I do the wheelbase measurement using the standard WB of the tractor and then using the kingpin
to center of spread axles I am at 715" or 18.1meters overall.
Overall bumper-to-bumper length is 70' or 21.33meters.Last edited: Sep 16, 2012

So,what is the wheelbase?????? 260" or 265".......
Get it right...
Ontario and Quebec can really give ya a hard time for not having it accurate... -
Center steer-axle to front bumper won't be more then 4 feet, 1.2 m. Center axles trailer to rear bumper will be app 8 ft, 2.5 m.
18.1 + 1.2 + 2.5 = 21.8 meters.
Shouldn't be a problem, just get yourself a permit..!! -
You're right about that one. Better have it right on the permit.

Guys...
I thought it was 265" cause that's what I was told.
I measured it and came up with 260" (259.6 to be exact)
The length bumper to bumper is exactly 70' with the 5th wheel fully stretched back.
