I have purchased a used 2017 travis belly dump. I cannot figure out how to pin the gates. It is unlike any other bottom dump. The previous owner has no idea. There are no holes in the bar where normally you pin the gates. It comes with pins and a sticker to stay it has 8 slots

There aren’t 8 slots in that slide bar when you open the gates ?

Not even a hole to lock them shut ? What about the other end of the gate ? Is there a slide bar on both ends of the gates?

There are matching slide bars, there is a pin and mount as pictured. There are no holes in the slider assembly

I don't know, but you wouldn't want holes in that slide bar for pins anyway, except just to work on it maybe. You would not be able to open or close it if the bar was pinned.

Does those doodads in the second pictures some how stick throuh the slots in the gate itself and when the gates open the slide bar presses against it stopping the gates where you want them?

Thats the impression I'm getting... Seen similar setups on stationary equipment before... Never been around belly dumps much myself though.

Did you try their website, or contacting them directly?

Yes and yes, no answer or reply to how it works as yet. Called them yesterday on wiring controls, after 6 calls and 3 hours, we traced wires and built the cab controls ourselves.

    p608 Thanks this.
