BigMackTrucks is a very good site. you want a 1990-97 with the with the electronic bosch pump. Those granite's probably with the 460 isn't half the truck as an old e7 350. Really simple motors, the same basic block design has been around since late 40s early 50s. Speaks volumes and for a 11.9L anyone with common sense knows its not gonna run with a 3406 but that's what the e9 was for, 998 cubic in compared to the 728 e7
Heck even look for an e6 300 maxidyne. run a 5 speed wind it up to 21 and it drops down to 12 and will lug all day just keep an eye on that pyro. The 300+ had 1425tq that was impressive for the 11L back in the day

They had a double walled cab and water would get in aroundcthe lights and rsin gutter and would rust from the inside out. Mine the floors are bad the passenger door around the back of the cab and front around the head lights.
As far as parts go mechanical you can find parts new and used for the Macks and I am sure whites to, I think it is the body panels that are harder to come by unless they were real popular in your area and there are some hiding out in a back lot somewhere.Brettj3876 and slickWillie1980 Thank this. -

I'm in southern Illinois and have a small fleet of semi dumps. We run the Mack CH trucks. Mostly 2000 to 2004 for the semi dumps. We have several 95 Mack's that were converted into tandems and they are low maintenance hauling, long running, easy fixing trucks.
I wouldn't personally go any newer than an 05 Mack. We spent well over $10,000.00 in misdiagnosed repairs only to find the EGR had to be replaced on our 05 Mack Vision.
If you want one for dump truck hauling keep in mind that your truck will get beat up. The operators are notorious for busting sideboards, hitting the beds, busting lights, even dropping dirt/rock onto the cabs. This past season we had one truck get part of the cab crushed when the dirt bank gave way under the excavator. Another Mack got hit in the door by a bucket, yet another took out a front headlight and fender.
I also run 2007 Freightliner Columbia's that pull our side dump trailers. They are surprisingly powerful.
Hope this helps some. Good luck to you! -
Wow somones gonna get hurt soon if mofos can't stop using trucks as a place to fall on.Operator Should be taken out of excavator and stomped for going over the cab with the bucket.NO MATTER WHY
