Well I took another look and the take home pay if you pull 12000 to 14000 a month would be from 3250 a month to 3550 estimated. Not counting tarping border crossings etc
Not too shabby after all expenses.

In this day and age, with lousy rates, and sky high fuel, you are an idiot if you are thinking of becoming an owner operator. If you are insisting on doing this, tell your wife to load a gun, take you to a remote location, shoot you, and bury you deep. At least she will get the insurance, and not have the aggravation of living with a guy that has a ludicrous dream. Wish I had loaded the gun for my idiot husband the first time he told me he was buying a truck!

Where were you on Friday? You coulda saved me a whole pile of grief!I just bought a new IH 9900. Puttin her to work pullin deck in Sask and Alberta. I was an O/O in the 80's and 90's, took some time off, went back to just driving for someone else about 5 yrs ago and HATE it!
I've got some of my own customers and some I'll get brokered thru companies. I dont have a university degree, or any specialized training to do anything else, and nobody ever got rich diving for someone else. Not saying I'm going to be some kind of millionare, but I'll be a ###### sight better off being my own boss than just driving for one.Digitalwarrior Thanks this. -
Good luck with your new ride 89diesel. Have to agree it is better owning your own and making your own decisions.

Is there anyone here who has actually participated in TRI LINE's owner operator development program; or any owner development program!? I agree with 89diesel! I have been a company driver for 15 years and I'm still &*#@*** here!
I just quit another company job where my take home was 4k a month, but I'm almost never home, it's 14 hour days, and I have no life! It don't see how it's possible to make more than that!? I was told that some drivers take home 6k or even 7k (net) a month (*impossible; just a phrase to get me in the door I realize now)!
I'm willing to try anything at this stage; so does anyone know any successful O/O development program achievers? I see lots of lease ops' out there, quite a few with some real slick rigs as well, so there must be money to be made!?
Let me know how to make some real money driving truck because I'm tired of being a glorified, company slave!
(Company wankers need not respond; I'm not looking for opinions!) -
