the submarine truck is on e-bay now--nice paint--inside is pretty welfare tho--unless you like rubber matting on the walls and checker plate on the floor

thats not bad of a looking truck--if the ski's come off
the problem i had with tmt was --the trucks that they brought in,you could tell they were lacking in the maintenance dept --usually run into the ground pretty good
and the drivers were always not making any money to look after their equip
soooo make them a nice looking truck--still going to be in the same boat
it would have been better if they had just maybe cleaned up the truck and repaired everything and maybe gave the owner some business classes---but i guess that aint show biz

  4. There's a Pete close to me that I stopped to look at that's a flat top, but it's an UltraCab flat top. They had 4 States cut down a 63 inch stand up to make it level with the top of the Ultracab. It looks like any other Pete flat top, but you (well, I, at 5'8") can just about stand up in in. It was pretty cool, but I was told they gave a TON of money to have it done.

I thought I'd really like Trick My Truck, but I gotta say that I'd be pissed off if they did most of that crap to mine. I don't get why they load them down with all kinds of gimmick crap and stuff to add weight and take away functionality.:dontknow: I stopped watching after a few episodes in the first season when I actually liked the trucks better BEFORE they were tricked.:banghead:

thats exactely what i thought--lots of time all the trucks needed was maybe a paint job and a few repairs--maybe interior---not the stuff that looks like it belongs in a tuner car
i think a nice older truck--clean good shape maybe a few modern conviences--that looks way better than the stuff they did

  6. I was at a TruckPro picking some stuff up recently, and a real friendly older guy came in with an old Pete.

He was leased to Mercer and his Pete, he told me, was on an '86 model frame, engine, tranny, and rears, but the cab and sleeper was a 1971. It was pretty cool looking. All original, even the bumper looked 1971. He said he started building it in the early '90's, I think, and he told me it'd be the last truck he would drive.

I thought he did a better job on his and it looked better than any of those circus wagons on TMT. Looked like a real working truck (because it IS) and I thought it looked respectable in that role. A real trucker's truck.

He bought a front wheel, and we talked about his truck and Mercer a few minutes and then he said he had to get to Indy to unload the next day so he could be home for the weekend. Friendly fellow. I enjoyed talking to him.

now that would be a nice truck---kind of wonder how hard it would be to put a tilt wheel in an older truck---as that is really the main consideration that i would have in regards to having an old truck--well that and having enough horse power
