You should be able to get a trip permit. Whether or not another state recognizes it, is the question. But, if nothing else, you can buy one at each POE. I think insurance will require you to purchase a one month policy, minimum.

Call an insurance agent... there are thousands of them.

Me? I never had any temp permits when I brought home equipment from out of state... 3 KW's from TN...FL from Texas...Ford from Ohio... Pete from TN....

Tags? Huh... never thought of those.

You know at night stuff like that is hard to see anyway... and those two lanes don't have many chicken coops on 'em... you should try it.

The way DOT is this day and time, I don't want to take the risk of getting shut down in the middle of nowhere.

So what will they do??? Send you to prison? You are talking a 10 hour trip... how many trips have you run where you never got stopped for anything? Hundreds?

Sorry for the sarcasm but this is pretty easy for me... turn the key and head home.

If you need everything legal then get it done... call a local insurance agent who does commercial trucks... if you OWN the truck you should be able to buy a 30 day 'hunter's permit' in your state which will make your legal to bobtail and find a carrier to work for... just use it to get home.

Good luck... if you leave now you'll be back home tomorrow morning...
