Is there any software available for trip planning specifically geared to OTR drivers? Just enter your locale, and destination, and time available and it gives suggested results. Any apps or downloadable for tablets or laptops?

Learn how to do it without crutches and you'll be much better off.

The Rand McNally road atlas combined with a truckstop guide is the best software you will ever need

No its not, but if you want to do the job right then learn how too use these tools first, get comfortable trip planning this way, then use the cheater software to help you out.

I don't know about that. The RM atlas is invaluable but in many ways is lacking compared to available software. Both have their place.

And don't forget the phone. In some ways that's the most valuable tool.
