We assume that you don't know how to because you didn't say you did. Also reading a TRUCK Atlas isn't like reading a normal map. We have 10,000 things to take into account.
Seen alot of new drivers just in my first year instantly rely on a gps and that put them in a bad predicament. I just don't want to be at a country pride one day running into you and listening to how you followed your gps and got a ticket.
Information is power.

I use Microsoft streets and trips to first give me the right miles. then I see where x number of hours of driving will put me then I use my truck stop book to see where there is a truck stop in the area. my new tool that I just started using is an app. called "truck stop pro" it was $3.99 at the app store. it shows you a map of all truck stops and you can move the map to see where you will be. also has listings for walmarts that will let you park, home depots, lowes, and rest areas. found to be very usefull and cheaper then a truck stop book.

But the practical route isn't working properly.
Test Spring City, TN to Ringwood, IL and you'll see what I'm saying. No way should a truck take the route given through TN from exit 301 on. I can beat it by 30 minutes easy running I-40 to Mount Juliet, TN and catching TN 109 up to I-65.
The rest of the route was okay. Experience over someone programming. -
