    I think you're making it harder than it needs to be.

    It won't take very long until it's second nature. Until then go with a safe average of 50mph plus the 3 hours per day and adjust as you get more comfortable.

    What roads you're on, what time of day you go through major metro areas and many other variables all make a difference but the 50 plus 3 should keep you on time.

    I'm coming up with about 38 hours drive time. I never say whether I can make it by a certain time on a time on a trip that long until I get within a day's drive of it. 50mph is low for me. That's a lot of traffic or driving on surface streets. I can average 60 or better out east and it gets higher the further west I go.

    It'd be real tight trying to make that run. Probably try to get it off Saturday morning or get them to stay late on Friday (yeah right). But that's one reason I run flatbed. Very few hard appointment times. I get there when I can safely get there and they're usually happy to see me.
