Tripac control screen powering off

I turn on the screen and everything comes on as normal. Then when I hear the glow plugs (the sound just prior to cranking) the entire screen goes dark. Ground wire broken? I'd crawl under and look now but I'm parked in a customers mudhole lot for the night!! Thanks in advance.
