When it comes to electrical, I don’t know much about it. I’m still new at using a multimeter to check for voltage or other things. It may be a lose battery cable from the truck to the APU. It can be a damaged wire somewhere. Just try as much as you can. Eventually if you cannot solve it yourself, you’re going to have to pay $300 for an APU technician to rescue you. There’s nothing wrong with that. You did your part. You learned something along the way that can help you in the future. You won’t be able to fix everything yourself, but just the fact that you’ve tried will put you a step closer to knowing your APU better and saving more money in the long run.

The documents I posted also have the reset procedures for the Tripac. You might be able to find the ones for the Tripac Evolution online or somewhere in this site. If not, you can call TK directly. They might be able to help you on that. If you are an independent contractor for a big fleet, you can probably get some help from the breakdown department.

I agree, I’ll give it a few more trys and see if I can figure out the issue, if not then ill take it to a local shop who work on reefers/APUs to have them look it at.
I’m definitely not going to a Thermoking dealer, way too expensiveUndertaker92 Thanks this. -
They’re expensive, but they know what they’re doing and should be able to get it repaired sooner than a shop that doesn’t specialize in fixing APUs.

Just to clear the muddy waters a bit.
The inverter is entirely separated from the APU unit. It just comes in that package. If you have the inverter running under load, it is possible that your truck's battery protection throws a warning since the inverter draws power and the voltage might drop below a certain set point.
Yes, you will have to take the covers off to get to the wires. Which one exactly to look for, we don't know. I would guess, IF it is a problematic wire, I would check the oil pressure wire/sensor. It sits right at the front, next to the oilfilter. You may have done no good to it while you were in there.
And I think I read not too long ago in this forum, that there is a USB connection possible. I don't know to be honest.Last edited: Jun 11, 2020

Just out of curiosity. Do you have your truck engine running while you have your APU on?
Mine doesn't like it and shuts down after a while with an engine code. But mine is the old version, no evolution. -
No truck is off when I turn the APU on.
I did notice some oil below the oil filter when taking a look through the small panel. I’m guessing I out a little too much oil, now when I check - its at the line where it should be. But Im about to take off the panels and see what I can find. Will check all wires and see if come up with anything. -
Yeah as I said - first time having an inverter/circuit breaker in a truck.
Am I supposed to have the inverter/circuit breaker on all the time? -
Like I said, the converter and the APU are separate. So no, you don't have to have your converter on when you want to run the APU or vise versa.
Dud you make any progress yet?
