Thanks Jakebrake,WOW,a gold card,I wonder if you get a platinum for twin 48' certification.

I have the utmost respect for you double and triple pullers as I know they are a handful in slick or windy conditions. When condition are really bad in Indiana they ban LCV'S from the toll road, that must really create havoc with your cut times.

I wonder which would be tougher to drive, twin 48' or triple pups.A doubles driver told me as long as your first trailer clears a corner, the second one will.Does this hold true for triples also?

Is the 5 year requirement a company or Ohio?

Thanks for your time Jakebrake, sorry for all the questions, but I believe a person can never have too much information.

Well I'm gonna hit the sack now 6:30 am will be here too quick.

Never pulled two 48's but everyone says they pull better than trips.. With my very limited triples experience (about 30 miles worth of road test) the third box follows the first one like a set of doubles. Never asked but I believe 5 years of doubles experience is an Ohio mandate - not a Con-way mandate. You really do get a gold card in your wallet once you're Ohio certified though - makes me feel special..lol..

LCV's do get shut down in Indiana and Ohio especially when the wind kicks up. I can remember times when my meet partners never showed because they were shut down - you also cannot go around an accident off the Pike with 2 48' or 3 28' wagons.. You're stuck till the road is open.. We're busy as heck right now but once things settle down I'm gonna see if an Oh triples terminal will borrow me for a week so I can run the things and see how it goes. If I do, I'll post pictures and let everyone know how it goes..

Should mention that the gold card allows me to pull triples and twin 48's in Ohio.. It's an LCV permit I guess..

By the way.. Props to all my fellow Con-way drivers and all other drivers who have been pulling 3 for years. You don't see them involved in accidents very often if ever. I know my Con-way peeps that pull 3 are as good as drivers get..
