It says for CDL license testing. It also mentions other licenses besides a standard. We didn’t do any kind of testing. DMV officials did. I think this was in Massachusetts. Am I missing something?

MAuses State Police for testing at their locations. I got my class B there in 1984 and the test was through the State Police. Back then we also had State registry police..was eventually disbanded due to budget cuts.

The Staties do testing at their locations and at CDL driving schools throughout the commonwealth. They have the final say on whether someone can pass and get a CDL or not. There are only a handful that are DOT certified in the commonwealth to do such tasks. For the most part they’ll do mostly CMV enforcement depending on the location. I checked out and got mine in 2014.

i worked as a CDL instructor, and MA Troopers administered the skills/road testing.

you did 1 thing wrong, and you failed, then had to go back and redo what you failed at, to advance to the next test(s)

back then, it cost the students $90 per testing session..

it was "detail pay" for the troopers.

If I remember correctly, they are one of the few states that won’t transfer a new out of state CDL unless it is aged a certain amount of time..1year??

Yes, it’s now done at Otis ANG base in Bourne.
Mine was done in Bourne somewhere. All I remember is that it was cold and windy and I was shivering to death!

I lived right near the base and will never forget the sound of the fighter jets when they were scrambled on 09/11…they left in a big hurry!
