My wife and I started in 2002 with a mega who had their own school.
We paid cash for the school and worked for 6 months with them and they reimbursed our tuition.
After that we got on with a local company hauling produce. Dedicated run from Nashville to California and back weekly.
Did that for 5 years then went with Gordon for 5 years until they sold.
My wife has been off the truck now for a few years and manages a motel in the town we live in and i have been driving for my present company 4 years and will retire in 4 years.
We made very good money teaming and especially enjoyed running produce.
You should look into a company like quest depending on where you live.
Trucking is difficult but you can make it.
Btw.. we were in our 40's when we started.

That was my exact thought, and just a few posts later they're already regretting the decision to leave when they "had the chance." This is reason number 2343453451958 why I'll never work for a mega, and if it ever, for whatever reason came to that, I'm throwing in the towel. Also, this is another reason why I have never, and will never decide to stay after I've already made up my mind to leave a company. Regardless of who promises to fix this or that, if the company has already shown their TRUE colors, what makes you think things will suddenly change because you made a fuss? Do some companies turn their act around when something like this occurs and actually stick to what they claim they'll change? Sure. But how often does that happen, and actually REMAIN the way it's supposed to? My guess is, not very often, and certainly not at a mega. I say op and her man need to get the hell out of dodge before it escalates further.CorsairFanboy and Just passing by Thank this.
