The problem is that statistics is about numbers and patterns they make. Ex convict population on average has more propensity to repeat felonies and go back to prison vs population with no criminal record.
That's why someone with no criminal record is more employable than someone that has one.

In some states, lethal force in self-defense is treated as a “violent crime”. I’ll personally never consider someone a “felon” if he went to prison for exercising what as far as I’m concerned is every man’s God given right.

How many felons have you met, known, been friends with, or interacted with in your lifetime?
I think we all know the answer.

I care to know none. There's something called recidivism.
 Fact:
"A 2016 federal study found that 49.3% of federal offenders were rearrested within eight years, while a 2025 report indicates that about two-thirds of released state prisoners are rearrested within three years and 82% within ten years."

Recidivism Among Federal Offenders: A Comprehensive Overview

So, while you may know one or two rehabilitated felons who have found Jesus and a new purpose of life, majority are liability; especially the violent ones. Them driving trucks, therefore, might be of public safety concern.Last edited: Oct 25, 2025 at 6:13 AM
