im just curious since i plan on doing my own company in the future but right now fuel is way to high for me to afford!!

I still don't think it can be done.. but I'm glad you are trying. Heck, open an office in Denver and I might be willing to drive for you!
As for paperwork and the like - The internet is your friend. If you can't find what you need at JJ Keller, just Google. Odds are darn good that something is out there that you can use - or modify for use.

I'm sure there are dozens, if not hundreds of other points of contact you'll need..
I also suggest electronic logging (such as DDL). It will save your driver and your logging department (you) time - and time is one thing you can't buy enough of. -
I saw the owner of Swift on TV today testifying to Congress that little truck companies are doomed with rising gas prices or consumer products are going to have to soar. He also expressed the high turn over rate in many companies. Starting a small trucking business or Owner Op looks grim right now.
