    Hey, “Jamaican me Crazy” coffee at the Workman’s travel center. If you haven’t stopped by this place yet, you should, one of my favorites.

    Restaurant is open 24 hours and it’s good food. Had me a sirloin steak and eggs at 2:30 am a few weeks back. Usually can always find parking.

    § 391.11 General qualifications of drivers.
    (a) A person shall not drive a commercial motor vehicle unless he/she is qualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle. Except as provided in § 391.63, a motor carrier shall not require or permit a person to drive a commercial motor vehicle unless that person is qualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle.

    (b) Except as provided in subpart G of this part, a person is qualified to drive a motor vehicle if he/she—

    (1) Is at least 21 years old;

    (2) Can read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records;

    has everything to do with following rules obviously something you despise…many of the foreign drivers can’t read not speak conversational level English to comply with those rules..many of them use translation apps which clearly shows thy can’t comply…

    If he was proficient enough in English to get a CDL, why did he need an interpreter in court?

    Someone driving a truck hauling hazmat (or truthfully any accident even non-hazmat) being involved in an accident and not able to communicate in english the hazards is unacceptable. Has it ever happened? I don't know. Could it? With our lax enforcement of the regulation that drivers must be able to read and speak english, yes. Being able to speak and read english isn't some evil racist conspiracy. It's just common sense in a country where english is the dominant language. Did that answer your question?

    "I believe you understand what you think I said -- but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard...is not what I meant"

    If a driver candidate can't read (out loud -- & without assistance)...& then explain what the above paragraph means....then he/she shouldn't have/get a CDL.

    :p :D
