    What?? Cheap companies trying to get cheaper?? WTH does that even mean, They are driving up the freight rates by saying there is a shortage, Truck pay is going up trying to hire and retain good drivers. I don't see the shortage either, but the figures don't lie, and your comment just doesn't make any sense at all..SMH

    There is no crisis.

    JB Hunt, Swift, Knight, Et al could have every seat of every truck filled. But it would hurt their profits to pay drivers what a Fed Ex, Walmart, UPS driver makes.

    So they keep screaming. Meanwhile shelves still have product, freight still moves, the world still turns.

    When the supply falls below demand then it is a shortage. Right now they just want more drivers.

    Yeah wages are coming up some. But they should be a lot higher. Median average starting driver pay should be 45-50k first year. The 2-3% up for every year of experience. Anyone with 5 clean years should be worth 70.

    It still boggles my mind 20 year guys bragging about 60k.
