Well I am not sure as to why people complain all the time.... I guess its just something to do to pass time. For me, as I am no trucker yet, start with Prime next month..... in my experience, people who complain usually did somthing themselves and don't take responsibility for their own actions. Not to say that companies haven't made mistakes or haven't lived up to the expectations as seen through the eyes of the employee.... thats the problem right there.... everyone has an opinion on what is fair, how to be treated, etc..... Some people think that $700 a week is a joke, where someone thinks that is a good amount of $$. My dad raised me to put your nose to the grindstone and work. No sense in complaining... its not going to really change anything..... work, be honest, be on-time, stay clean, and then find something else better or comparable and move..... Thank them for their time and don't burn any bridges.... Seems like good advice to me.

Like I said, I am no expert, not here to get in a shouting match or be a so-called cheerleader..... But in America nowadays, most people just try to pass the buck and don't take responsiblity for their wrongdoings or actions.... they try to blame it by saying it was the way I was raised, or this one did it so why can't I...... be a man and take responsibility....

I only know what I know. You only know what you know.

    Everything else is speculation...

I know plenty of people doing well at Prime... I've met plenty who haven't done well.

Without actually being on the truck, you kinda have to take the words at face value from either side of the coin.

Overall my experiance has been excellent... Do I have some gripes or complaints? Yeah.. Why the hell are they charging for a side of sour cream when they haven't in the past?:biggrin_25510:

Honestly, I could do without the "B Team". (the night crew/weekends). This includes the fuel desk, road assist and dispatch. They can just leave me alone until my FM comes in... He usually works 6 days a week and it's not uncommon for him to work 7... More often than not my FM is cleaning up the mess they get me into...

Before paperless, it was these Bozos that would call me up in the middle of the night to repower a load.... To either "feel me" out on running it knowing I didn't have the hours, or if I did have the hours it usually ment giving up a great load cuz another driver refused to budge on violating his logs and he had already ran the bulk of the miles... Leaving me with the crap job of delivery.

My FM gave me a $100 bucks for a repower from Ogden to Corrine, UT after I got stuck at Wally world for 10 hours because it was late, and the previous driver only gave me half the bills. The shipper took to long to fax the other half, so they put half the load back on the trailer and the produce dept. went home for the day.

Now you might think $100 is no good, but I had already deliverd there once that day, and subsequently I ran out of hours while delivering the repower... So I got a break that I needed to get anyway.

Wasted 4 hours two weeks ago after a shipper loaded food on my trailer with a forklift that was leaking hydraulic fluid everywhere. Dock guy said it was ok... I talked to his supervisor and he wasn't ok with it. Shipper had to unload me and took the blame. I didn't even have to ask, my FM thanked me for keeping a keen eye and not to worry that I would be compensated for the trouble... Like magic the pay showed up on my check.

By all means i am a greenhorn as far as trucking ,but @41 i have learned some jobs are what you make of them.

I had a job one time where trucks would dump medical waste into garbage bins.
Well they would dock these bins and open up the side doors and we where to put them into a bucket and roll it on a machine(to clean it)
And then we where to put all the waste into boxes and tape them up and ship them out.(they was supose to be in bags and already in boxes)

They gave us jersey gloves and shovels, well the smell and blood would splatter all over you.
And also syringes where everywhere with blood on them!!!!!!!!!!!!

The guy said we would have special suits and medical shots ,well he never did.
He also said it paid $19 a hr plus 10 hours overtime.
I asked the vet who worked there (2 month vet) and as soon as afterbirth flew all over me ,i went to him i quit.
What was worse was it payed $7.00 hr,he said the employment office messed up on the pay(righttttttttttttt)

So i went to the hospital and had every shot i could think.

So there are jobs out there where you wouldnt think about it,so i just think about that trash house of blood and shots:biggrin_25513:
    And i can do anything(lol)

They're chargin' for sour cream now? That does it! Everything those naysayers are biotchin' about must be true!!!

    :biggrin_2559:

Prime ain't the best thing since sliced bread...

Yup, I don't exactly agree with everything they come up with... that lightweight road tractor nonsense gets right into that category.

I've been with Prime for three years now, and if even 10% of the c.r.a.p. that get's posted about Prime were the case, I'd have been gone - a very long time ago.

Prime is a pretty good place to work, and I've had the misfortune to work at some places that totally sucked. Prime isn't one of them - and if that changes I will be gone.

    Not convincing.

How do you go from engineering to technician jobs and what specialty did you handle. For which company?

    It doesn't add up.:biggrin_25513:
