    1) One hand on top of the wheel

    2) Watch the mirrors... when you start to see too much of the trailer in one mirror, turn the top of the wheel toward that mirror.

    It's easier to deal with just one mirror when straight-line backing, but glance over in the other one every few seconds to make sure you're not running down an old lady in a wheel chair... or crushing any spotted owls or endangered whales.

    They Call Me "Dat Cone Killa" I remember being in school and got so bored that I started taking out every other cone in a zig zag pattern just to entertain myself. We had 4 trucks on the backing pad. And 2 students that made it that far including myself. So yeah I had 4 hours each day of doing nothing but backing. The other "student" taught me how to back. He was a yard dog for 8 years at a walmart dc.
