You are right, nobody should be embarrassed or afraid to ask any question on here. We all know people who are "too dumb to know, and too arrogant to ask" a question. These are the folks who wind up crying about how this is such a horrible company or even a horrible industry. They usually don't last too long in the industry.
Now then, about the answers. I don't think too many folks here are out to hurt anyone's feelings. Some folks have been driving so long that they've forgotten what it's like to be a newbie. Some questions have answers that are so self-evident to old timers, but are legitimate questions for rookies. We sometimes forget this.
Forgive the italics here, I got it turned on, but can't get it off!
Anyway, a driver needs to be able to do a couple of things that really don't just apply to trucking, but to life in general; first, develop your sense of humor. Don't be afraid to laugh at yourself. Hell man, everybody makes mistakes and does dumb things from time to time.
Second, develop a thick skin. You are going to have a miserable life, if you get your feelings hurt, or get pissed at other folks comments.
