I have read on here that there are requirements for a truck to be used by a company. I am looking at a barn find that was only used on a ranch. I believe it is a 1982 but less than 500 miles. It is in really good shape but could I use it working for a company?

Its up to the company. As long as it passes inspection and isnt an eye sore... But you will be limited to companies with no age limits on equipment. And you wont be able to go too California. I hope you are mechanically inclined, there will be a lot of dry rotted hoses and other parts needing replaced due to age and just from sitting. Good luck!

Day cab so it would not be used OTR just local stuff. It would be perfect for oil field work. It has automatic tire preasure adjustment from the cab. It uses single wide tires instead of the double for a softer foot print. It even has a winch to get itself out of trouble. They used it getting back into and out of places when the weather was too bad for other trucks to haul the cattle out. They would use it to get the cattle trailers to the paved road and then other trucks would haul them on the road. It has been very well taken care of. I can't find any dry rubber. It was cleaned after being used too so it is not even that dirty. It looks like a new truck. I just have to make sure I can use it and then come up with a price we agree on.

Not that you would but for clarity, pre-1994 trucks have until 12/31/14 in CA before they are required to have a 2010 engine.
