Truck GPS apps

Position accuracy is not related to the ability to keep a signal lock under extreme conditions. I run a location tracking program on my Android phone, which rides in a windshield mount. The Broadcom chip in my phone gets "lost" a lot sooner than the GPS in my Qualcomm.

There are technical reasons for this. Fundamentally, it's one of the tradeoffs made to get a GPS into such a small chip.

 

broadcom has been selling defunct chips. don't know if they've fixed the problems yet. but apparently there's a whole batch floating around the world.

my replacement cell phone doesn't have the broadcom. it works better then the original phone model i first bought.
my acer tablet also has the problem. gps only lasted a week. and hasn't worked since. my asus tablet. works just fine after 6 months.

 

i would nt use cellphone i use a garmin for trucks an have had it 4 years not one problem with it but one pittsburg pa it dont work right there an if it aint made for trucks dont use it lol i thought it was funny though the way the new company gives you an address is the way we all did it before gps we got address phone number an a time to be there we used map to see how to get to the town then called shipper an asked for directions use to be a time we had to go to truck stops to use payphones you d be at a ta an there would be 20 drivers waiting on phone now a days you cant even find a payphone times have changed for the better lol
