Reefer volume outta Chicago 150mile radius has tanked day over day this week, reminds me of the shutdown in 2020. Btw Chicago is a leading indicator of how things will be in the Midwest all the way towards east, its looking bad.

Can't get that broker to pay you $1500 to Iowa again? I already booked a load right where I'll be empty on Monday. Rockford, IL. Going to Buffalo/Rochester area for 2800 and already working what to do from there.
The difference can be felt. Before I was bidding absurdal rates and they were still calling back and see if I could go down but this week nobody calls. Also, loads to be picked up out of Chicago area on Monday are going fast.

    PoleCrusher and Buckeyes614 Thank this.

What goes up, must come down.

I hope you guys were stacking and preparing to pay forward on expenses going into 2022 to lessen your potential tax burdens.

Really weird, I woke up around 9am this morning and their was only 350 loads within Chicago's 150 mile radius, 45 min later it went down to 220 lol and it's currently 160 now this afternoon. It's time to start booking 2 days out

On the bright side a slow down would do some good. Let it repel new hopefuls, cancel a few orders. I would like to order a new trailer and trade in mine. I heard a rumour that the local Utility is full till 2023 - Amazon made a huge order there. I hope they are going to choke first.
So maybe a few months of '$2 per mile is good' will make some room.

Yea combine that with 3.40$ a gallon fuel with low volume loads, you'll definitely be able to pick up cheap equipments soon

Although, I don't see how effective they can be about the rates, I'd like to some visible outcry about the Pro Act bill.
