Reefer volume outta Chicago 150mile radius has tanked day over day this week, reminds me of the shutdown in 2020. Btw Chicago is a leading indicator of how things will be in the Midwest all the way towards east, its looking bad.

The difference can be felt. Before I was bidding absurdal rates and they were still calling back and see if I could go down but this week nobody calls. Also, loads to be picked up out of Chicago area on Monday are going fast.PoleCrusher and Buckeyes614 Thank this. -
What goes up, must come down.
I hope you guys were stacking and preparing to pay forward on expenses going into 2022 to lessen your potential tax burdens.TallJoe and ProfessionalNoticer Thank this. -

On the bright side a slow down would do some good. Let it repel new hopefuls, cancel a few orders. I would like to order a new trailer and trade in mine. I heard a rumour that the local Utility is full till 2023 - Amazon made a huge order there. I hope they are going to choke first.
So maybe a few months of '$2 per mile is good' will make some room. -
TallJoe and ProfessionalNoticer Thank this.
